Britain Got Talent's Alesha Dixon reveals mum's 5-word response to 'disgusting' act

Loose Women: Alesha Dixon discusses 'controversial' Britain's Got Talent act
Britain's Got Talent judge Alesha Dixon has addressed the controversial contestant that caused viewers to "switch off" the TV on Saturday night, revealing that her mum wasn't a big fan either.
The ITV talent competition kicked off on Saturday night, with Alesha returning to the judging panel alongside Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and guest KSI. However, many viewers were left horrified by professional sword swallower Auzzy Blood, who took to the stage with a graphic performance that involved placing various objects through his nose.
Specialising in extreme body manipulation, Auzzy Blood performed a series of dangerous tricks which left many fans complaining on social media. "Auzzy Blood probably the most disturbing thing I’ve seen! what makes someone think I’m going to try and shove a metal hook up my nose," one viewer wrote. Another said: "AUZZY BLOOD on BGT was disgusting, not entertainment, pre watershed and a terrible example to children watching a supposed family show."
Now, judge Alesha has spoken out about the act after hitting her buzzer during his audition. Appearing on Loose Women this afternoon, Alesha revealed that she couldn't watch as Auzzy Blood performed.
"My mum actually messaged me, 'Well done for buzzing him,'" she revealed. When Denise Welch asked whether she had any idea what Auzzy was going to do with the hooks when he walked on stage, Alesha said: "No - I find those kind of acts really interesting. They're a bit like Marmite.
"We love to hate them. I find them very difficult to watch but when I watched it back with my family, I was howling with laughter. I found it so funny and watching everybody's reactions, that's when it becomes entertaining."
When Ruth Langsford pointed out that when you're watching it for the first time, you fear that the worst is going to happen, Alesha continued: "I found it difficult definitely. I was a bit like this for most of it," she said, shielding her eyes. "And then I just reached over to my red buzzer. After I watched it at the launch, I did say to the producer, 'I get it.'
"Because it's so funny and we do like these controversial acts that are a bit entertaining, a bit out there, some people are going to love it, some people won't."
Despite being controversial, some fans admitted on social media that Auzzy Blood could win the show.
Loose Women airs weekdays from 12:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX. Britain's Got Talent continues on Saturday at 7pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
