David Tennant's wife makes family life admission with two neurodiverse kids

Georgia Tennant, wife of former Doctor Who star David Tennant, has opened up about the challenges of raising two neurodiverse children within their family. In a candid interview, the 40 year old actress revealed that their family only manages to eat together once a year due to the unique needs of their children.
"I don't understand how people sit around and all eat together. We've got a lot of neurodiverse kids so a couple of them don't like eating around other people. They go and eat in separate rooms," Georgia shared during a recent podcast.
The couple, who met on the set of Doctor Who in 2008, have been lauded by fans for their parenting approach. Their family includes Ty, 23 - Georgia's son from a previous relationship - and Olive, 14, Wilfred, 12, Doris, ten, and five year old Birdie. One supportive mum posted on social media: "Sounds challenging, you're doing well Georgia", reports the Mirror. Another added: "You got this, Georgia."
During her appearance on Russell Howard's Five Brilliant Things podcast, Georgia, who is the daughter of another former Doctor Who star Peter Davison, further explained: "A couple of them won't eat the same food, so we have to cook a different meal for them. Mealtime is like two and a half hours of me wandering around the house serving different people in different rooms."
The actress, born in Hammersmith, west London, revealed that due to different schedules, her family rarely dine together at home, with Christmas being the notable exception. This is a common scenario for many families across the UK, as a recent survey found that screen time is increasingly replacing conversation at the dinner table.
Georgia, who starred in the BBC drama The Way last year, candidly described the chaotic scenes when she does manage to gather her family for a meal out. She said: "We never [eat together]. Christmas, I think we do. Every now and again, we'll go to a pub and we'll all sit down and it's just a f***ing nightmare. I just want to go home. They're crawling on the table, one's got headphones on. It's just like, no."
Georgia was just 16 when she had Ty from a previous relationship. Ty, who has since been adopted by David, is also an actor and has recently appeared in series such as War of the Worlds and House of the Dragon.
Since marrying David, Georgia has had four children with the BAFTA-winning Scottish actor.
Speaking fondly about her husband and children on the podcast, Georgia also said: "I like how different they are. It seemed weird that two people can keep creating such a different smorgasbord of humans. And that's really fascinating.
"This is a man (David) who likes a sandwich with many, many things inside it. He really likes a potato, he really loves a big old sandwich. It's just not for me. But it brings him so much joy."
