ITV Dancing On Ice fans fume at judges for 'overmarking' star amid shock exit

Dancing on Ice: Mollie Pearce receives her results from the judges
Dancing On Ice fans have expressed frustration over the judges' scoring.
Mollie Pearce and her partner, Colin Grafton, performed during Musical Week. The couple received high marks, including three 9.0 scores and one 8.5, leading viewers to question the fairness of the scores. Many fans took to X formerly Twitter, suggesting that the judges might have been "watching something different" and highlighting the lack of solo skating from Mollie.
One user wrote: "I love Mollie but that was overmarked." Whilst another echoed: "9.0 for Mollie and Colin. Are they watching something different?!" A third penned: "Mollie once again overmarked ,it was nice but she does not do much solo skating she is either being lifted or pulled but judges obviously want her to go into final, but In my opinion Michaela dances so much more."
A fourth wrote: "So they're giving the same scores (9's) as Mollie, but Sam was miles better." And a fifth added: "Well done Mollie and very brave. Although slightly overmarked IMHO." A sixth wrote: "Mollie was good but the standard required to get a 9 seems to have lowered in comparison to other years!"
Mollie, a 23-year-old from Nailsea, Somerset, gained fame as a contestant on the BBC reality show The Traitors. Before joining Dancing On Ice, she faced a significant setback by fracturing her left wrist during rehearsals, which kept her off the ice for four weeks. Despite this challenge, Mollie returned to training and impressed the judges.
The former healthcare assistant has found her life transformed, appearing on shows such as Loose Women and Lorraine. However, the success has come with a side order of heartache: in October Mollie split from her long-term love Max Backwell after three happy years together.
“I’ve learned I’m a lot stronger than I thought,” says Mollie, reflecting on her transformative 12 months. “I can do a lot more than I thought. I’ve learned a lot this year and found confidence in the right areas which is nice.” Ending your first significant relationship is always a wrench, but Mollie is grateful she has Dancing On Ice to take her mind off it. “I don’t have time to think about anything like that if I’m honest, my life is just skating, eating and sleeping when I can,” says Mollie. She adds, “It was helpful that everything was amicable. We’re still friends. I have so much respect for him and vice versa.”
Having Dancing On Ice filling up her schedule means Mollie is concentrating on herself and not looking to move on romantically with anyone else. “Right now I’m just focusing on skating and taking one day at a time,” says Mollie. “I’m finding love with myself!”
However, Mollie isn’t ruling out taking part in one of the many celebrity dating shows after Dancing On Ice has finished, teasing, “Never say never!”
