India’s Roseate Hotels to Expand Globally — Inside the CEO’s Plans

Even as India's hospitality space is thriving, not all companies are looking at rapid expansion. Roseate Hotels and Resorts is focusing on smaller properties that offer exclusive experiences to drive profitability.
Luxury hotel chain Roseate Hotels and Resorts is steadily expanding its portfolio, aiming to open two to three hotels each year. Yet, despite this growth, the company maintains it is not competing with other hospitality brands.
“We are not in a race,” CEO Kush Kapoor told Skift. “We are not trying to match the way the big brands are signing numerous hotels. We are looking at two or three hotels a year, and every hotel will be different from the existing hotels.”

The brand primarily follows an ownership model, with five hotels in the UK and three in India, and a fourth underway in the Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR). “Our first focus will always be on owned hotels, where we either buy the hotels which resonate with our portfolio or we build our own hotels,” Kapoor said.
Emphasizing the importance of location and individuality over scale, he said, “It has to be a small hotel where we can spend more time interacting with the guests rather than getting lost in big weddings or conferences,” he said.
