Regional budget airline airport named best in the UK and it’s getting a £2.4billion revamp
LUTON Airport has been named the UK's Best Low-Cost Airline Terminal 2025 by Skytrax.
Based on passenger satisfaction and overall experience, Luton Airport has been crowned the best terminal in the UK for budget airlines and number 10 in the world.

The regional airport came in tenth place in that category at The Skytrax World Airport Awards, which are based entirely on customer feedback and independent surveys.

Luton came in at number 10, the top three airports across the world that were voted best for budget airlines were Paris Charles de Gaulle, Tokyo Narita, and Kansai.
It's a big feat for Luton Airport, and not the first award it's won either.
London Luton Airport won the best airport award for the 10-25million passenger category in July 2024, beating out others in Brussels and Spain.
In 2023, it was named the Best UK airport by readers of the Condé Nast Traveller.
The wins follow a period of huge investment for the airport including the Luton Airport Express rail service which was a £20million upgrade.
They also now have the latest security technology and as well as a larger choice of shops and restaurants.

Luton is home to the largest airside restaurant in the UK, a two-floor American diner called Sanfords.
The airport is also set to get even bigger as it was given the green light to expand by building a new terminal in early April 2025.
The plan is for this to be open by 2040 and as a result the airport's capacity will double up to 32 million passengers a year.
The entire project is estimated to cost £2.4billion.
Just last month, Luton welcomed low-budget airline, Jet2 to the airport.
Jet2's very first flight took off to Majorca on April 1, 2025.
Now, there are two brand new Airbus A321 neo aircrafts operating services from Luton.
The services fly to 17 destinations across Europe, including Greece, the Balearic Islands and Portugal.
It is the first time in 20 years that a new base airline has arrived at Luton.
There are 430,000 seats available across 36 flights over the next few months for summer 2025.
You can now book trips for summer 2026, while bookings for 2027 will be available from September of this year.
Jet2 has launched three exclusive routes with its new programme too.
The first is from Luton to Girona, a city in the northeast region of Catalonia, Spain.
Another exclusive new route launched by Jet2 is to the island of Madeira. And the last on the exclusive list of Jet2 flights is from Luton to the Italian city of Verona.
