EV Digital Invest insolvent: Why the Engel & Völkers network is in crisis

For example, an apartment building was planned for construction in Munich under the project name "Atelier-Wohnungen an der Burg II." Approximately two million euros of investor capital flowed into the new building via EV Digital Invest. The property developer, Royal Residenz 4 GmbH, filed for insolvency in 2022.
Several investors felt cheated. They therefore sued EV Digital Invest before the Berlin Regional Court – and won their case in mid-2024. The judges ruled that the crowdfunder, licensed by Engel & Völkers, had "deceived" its investors. EV Digital Invest had marketed the project as secure, but relied on outdated data regarding the developer's financial strength. The ruling states: "For the question of whether a company is currently creditworthy, it is obviously irrelevant what its credit rating was two years ago." When contacted by manager magazin, EV Digital Invest declined to comment on the ruling or any other details.
