Calculate numerology: How to read your birth number, life number and destiny number

Calculate numerology: How to read your birth number, life number and destiny number

Calculate numerology: This is how you can predict your life path with astonishing accuracy.

Those interested in astrology and spirituality might also enjoy numerology. What exactly is it? Numerology is the study of the mystical relationships between numbers, letters, and patterns. The goal is to gain a deeper understanding not only of oneself, but also of others and the world as a whole. Numerology can also help identify subconscious desires and show how they can be realized. It also offers an opportunity to delve deeper into the theory of karma and understand what we carry from one relationship into the next. Below, we explain how you can calculate your birth number, life number, and destiny number using numerology and show you how to correctly interpret them.

Pythagoras

The origins of numerology date back to the period between 569 and 470 BC. This was the time of the Greek philosopher Pythagoras, who studied the metaphysics of numbers and believed that every number could be reduced to a single digit between 1 and 9. He believed that understanding this single digit could help us understand our own spiritual and magical vibrations.

Kabbalah

Kabbalah, a collection of writings on the mystical traditions and teachings of Judaism, uses the 22 letters of the Hebrew alphabet to determine the numerological meaning of names. Each letter is assigned a number, and the numbers are then added together. Initially, this method was used by Kabbalistic philosophers to protect the Kabbalah's writings from non-believers. Later, however, it was used to use names to gain insight into our direction and purpose in life.

Chaldean Numerology

In the Chaldean numerology of the ancient Babylonians, the focus is on the vibrations of the numbers 1 to 8. The number 9 is considered sacred; it represents a connection to the divine and stands for everything one could desire in the world. In this magical method, we discover our destiny based on our date of birth and the numbers associated with the letters of our name.

The Mother of Numerology: L. Dow Balliett

Numerology was brought into the modern world by L. Dow Balliett, an influential spiritualist of the early 20th century, who wrote several books on the subject. Later, one of her students, Dr. Juno Jordan, helped raise awareness of the single-digit method on which modern numerology is based.

Calculating numerology: How it works

There are three factors to calculate numerology. These are:

  • the birth number
  • the life number
  • the destiny number

Below you will learn how the calculation works.

#1 Calculate numerology with birth date and birth number

You can find your birth number—also called your soul number—from your birth date. For example, if you were born on the 5th of a month, your birth number is 5. If you were born on the 28th (a two-digit number), add both digits (2 + 8 = 10) to determine your birth number. Birth numbers don't have to be reduced to a single digit. Use only the day, not the month or year, to find your lucky number.

#2 Calculate numerology with the life number

Your Life Number can help you find your destined path in life. It reveals what makes you unique and what lies hidden within you—and it also records your so-called karmic debt. To determine your Life Number, all you need to do is add together the day, month, and year of your birth date. Assuming you were born on October 27, 1990, you would proceed as follows:

  1. Add the digits of the day: 2 + 7 = 9
  2. Then add the two digits of the month October: 1 + 0 = 1
  3. Finally, the year 1990 follows: 1 + 9 + 9 + 0 = 19
  4. Because this is a two-digit number, it is further reduced: 1 + 9 = 10
  5. A final addition follows to obtain a single-digit number: 1 + 0 = 1.
  6. Now all main numbers are added: 9 (day of birth) + 1 (month of birth) + 1 (year of birth) = 11
  7. This number is reduced again by addition: 1 + 1 = 2

In this case, your life number would be 2.

#3 Calculate numerology with the destiny number

In numerology, your destiny number not only reveals your deepest heart's desire, but also points to the part of you that is searching for fulfillment. To calculate your destiny number, you can proceed in the same way as with your life number. Instead, you take your first and last name as a basis and assign a number to each letter. You then calculate this sequence of numbers in the same way as you did with your life number above:

  • Use the number 1 for the letters A, J, S.
  • Use the number 2 for the letters B, K, T.
  • Use the number 3 for the letters C, L, U,
  • Use the number 4 for the letters D, M, V.
  • Use the number 5 for the letters E, N, W.
  • Use the number 6 for the letters F, O, X,
  • Use the number 7 for the letters G, P, Y.
  • Use the number 8 for the letters H, Q, Z.
  • Use the number 9 for the letters I, R.

#4 Calculate numerology: These are the master numbers

The numbers 11, 22, and 33 are considered master numbers in numerology, meaning they don't need to be added together to produce a single-digit number. Here's what the master numbers mean:

  • The number 11 represents a charismatic person who is extremely intuitive and does everything in their power to help other people.
  • The number 22 symbolizes a dreamy person who can turn their goals and dreams into reality. The number 22 is also often referred to as the builder number.
  • The number 33 represents a spiritual and philanthropic person who cares for humanity before helping themselves.
What is the difference between a soul number and life number?

Your soul number, also known as your birth number, is based solely on the day you were born. It is determined solely by your birth date and reflects the core of your identity. Your soul number allows you to pursue deep desires and find the best path to unleash your inner power.

For the Life Path Number, however, the month and year of birth are also relevant. This number reveals your destined life path and indicates your calling, motivations, talents, and challenges. It highlights what makes you unique and can also contain information about your "karmic debt." The Life Path Number can serve as a valuable source of insight into your personality and can provide guidance for becoming the best version of yourself.

What meanings are attributed to numbers in numerology?
