In this article, we present some of our favorites. All podcasts are available on the most popular platforms.
Jenny Krutzinna holds a PhD in philosophy and is a passionate camper. When switching from a tent to a motorhome presented her with challenges in finding a campsite, she and her partner quickly developed a digital solution. For eight years, they have been running a leading camping app that helps hundreds of thousands of campers find suitable overnight spots across Europe. Jenny also regularly gives talks on camping and travel topics at camping trade fairs and van life events. She spends about six months of her year on the road in a camper van.
The online magazine from Nele, Jalil, and their team is one of the most useful resources for all campers—from complete beginners to seasoned campers. Topics range from camping basics to vehicles and equipment, to travel destinations and practical tips for traveling with dogs, children, and other travelers. The two have also combined their many years of experience as campers and journalists into a camping handbook, helping first-time campers get the best possible start to their camping life.
CamperStyle has also been available as a podcast for about five years. Each week, Nele and Sebastian discuss a new topic. Sometimes external guests are invited, sometimes not. They report on their travels, present innovations from their trade fair visits, interview experts on specialized topics, such as traveling with disabilities, and talk with other interesting people from the camping industry. They regularly respond to listener feedback and take this into account when choosing topics – for example, we were able to host a talk on "Camping with a Cat."
In their camper podcast, Raphaël and Kati talk with select people from the van life and camping scene about travel destinations, services or products, special experiences, or unusual vehicles. The topics are designed for both new and experienced campers.
The two also share travel stories from their family life as part-time and full-time vanlifers over the past few years, traveling with their daughter to various regions of Europe. Popular travel destinations like the Canary Islands or Raphaël's second home, France, are presented with personal insights and practical tips, making you want to head there immediately. The personal touch of the two makes the podcast a special listening experience for us.
The CAMP & WORK podcast features inspiring stories and exciting testimonials from campers who master life and work on the road. Anja, who has lived in a van herself for eight years, speaks with experts in her podcast and addresses practical questions on topics such as internet access, office organization, and taxes.
With topics related to mobile working and work-life balance on the go, the podcast is specifically aimed at "digital nomads," people who not only want to travel but also work while on the move. The stories from self-employed individuals who share how they earn a living from their camper vans are also of interest to those who have always wondered how this lifestyle can work. Freelancers, employees working from home, and entrepreneurs also receive valuable tips on how to combine mobile working with camper van life.
This podcast has been running for four years and covers the topics of motorhomes, vans, people, travel, technology, and other things related to mobile living. Axel, Jan, and Thomas interview campers, report on vehicle topics, and share travel stories. Their friendly manner, which we have experienced ourselves as podcast guests, is convincing.
The fact that the three are very different camper types themselves, traveling with panel vans, semi-integrated vehicles, and alcove motorhomes, is also reflected in their podcast. Here, they present truly diverse campers and provide listeners with exciting, diverse topics. While the podcast is purely a hobby project, it's run with a lot of passion. Community is important to the team, which is why they're even hosting an Abgefahrenn podcast listener meetup again this year.
Not a podcast, but something for your ears is also available at Caravan.fm, the first radio station for us campers. Broadcast daily, and you can listen anytime via a free app. Our tip: Happy Camping Morning with Melli, every day until 1 p.m.
