Summer holidays on Kos: The 13 most beautiful beaches on the Greek island

Kos is considered the perfect beach island in Greece . This is thanks to its long sandy beaches, secluded coves, and the turquoise sea that seems to always be in sight. But which beach is right for you? Here are the 13 most beautiful beaches on Kos – and where to find them.
In the south of the island lies a beach whose name already promises paradise: Paradise Beach enchants with soft sand, crystal-clear water and a picture-perfect bay where you can swim wonderfully.
Exciting: Because volcanic gases are present in certain spots in the water, the sea occasionally bubbles, forming small bubbles. This is why the beach is nicknamed "Bubble Beach." Unfortunately, it can get quite crowded during peak season, so it's worth arriving early in the morning.

If you don't just want to swim in the sea or chill on the beach, but also want to take photos, Agios Stefanos Beach in the south of the island is the perfect place. Here, you'll be posing on Kos's most photographed beach.
A highlight is the island of Kastri, located directly opposite and famous for its blue and white chapel. If you want, you can even swim across or take a pedal boat.

Also in the south of Kos is Blue Beach, which is less visited by tourists due to its more remote location. Those who come here will discover a picturesque setting and have the chance to jump into the waves all by themselves.
The only catch: Blue Beach is so remote that there are no cafes, restaurants, or restrooms. So, a well-stocked beach bag is essential for a day at the beach here.
Chilling in a thermal spring in the summer? Sounds strange, but it's completely normal on the south coast of Kos. This is where Therma Beach is located. What makes this beach special are the adjacent thermal springs, whose water is rich in minerals. Anyone who wants to can first hang out on the beach, then jump into the thermal springs, and top it all off with a massage.

First work, then play, or rather, a relaxing day at the beach. Camel Beach isn't exactly easy to reach. To get to the beach, you have to climb down quite a bit. But it's worth it.
Once you arrive, a picturesque beach surrounded by rocky landscape awaits you. Snorkelers will be rewarded with amazing underwater photos. While there are no restaurants, loungers and umbrellas are available for rent.
Also in the south of the island, you'll find one of the quietest beaches on Kos. Away from the crowds, Lagada Beach is small but beautiful. There are a few restaurants and loungers and umbrellas for rent, but that's about it. It's usually quiet here, and the gently sloping beach is very popular with families.
Even more secluded is Cavo Paradiso Beach (also known as Mystic-Phenomental Beach on Google Maps), which is located in a secluded spot on the southwestern tip of Kos. The name alone reveals what awaits you: Cavo Paradiso translates to "cave paradise." The beach is hidden among rocks and is only accessible on foot.
That's why there are very few tourists here. If you're looking for solitude on vacation and want to feel alone on an island, this is the place for you.
One of the most popular beaches is Psalidi Beach in the north of Kos, not far from the island's capital. Psalidi Beach seems endless: the entire coastal area of the Psalidi suburb is practically lined by a narrow strip of beach. However, it's no more than five meters wide.
And because the beach is so long, its appearance is constantly changing. One spot features pebbles and stones, while another features lighter, artificially created sand. There are also sections with loungers, showers, and changing rooms, and elsewhere, small bathing coves where things are more peaceful.
Also located in the north of Kos is Marmari Beach, ideal for all water sports enthusiasts. In spring and autumn, the wind blows steadily here, which is especially popular with sailors and surfers. Those who want to can rent a pedal boat, go kayaking, or try stand-up paddling.
Families also feel at home at Marmari Beach: the entry into the water is shallow and there are no undercurrents, which is perfect for smaller children.
Nearby is Tigaki Beach, another beach that offers a wide range of activities. Stretching over three kilometers, the fine sandy beach in Tigaki offers a wide range of activities: sit in one of the many restaurants and cafés, enjoy water sports, chill on one of the picturesque dunes, or simply jump into the waves. Most areas have serviced areas, and there are plenty of loungers and parasols.

Mastichari Beach, located in the village of Mastichari in the north of the island, is considered one of the most beautiful beaches on Kos. The beach is approximately two kilometers long and stretches southwest from the village's harbor, meaning it has several sections.
The closer to the village, the more restaurants there are; the more remote, the more tranquil. The surroundings are a dream: turquoise waters on one side, lush dunes on the other, and the island of Kalimnos opposite.

Are you currently in Kos Town and looking for a cool dip? Then Lambi Beach is the place to be. It's located just 100 meters north of the harbor in Kos Town. While it's always busy, that's partly due to the wide range of activities on offer.

The beach promenade is home to many restaurants, cafés, bars, and clubs. Water sports are also a focus here: you can ride a pedal boat or jet ski, and even try parasailing. Important: Lambi Beach is not a sandy beach, but rather a pebble beach. However, water shoes are not necessary, as the pebbles are fine.
Those looking for action should head to the west of Kos. Kohilari Beach is a paradise for water sports enthusiasts, especially kitesurfers, thanks to the Meltemi wind.

This is the northwest wind that blows steadily on Kos in the summer and creates great waves. Good to know: Surfers find the best conditions on Kos in the summer. Kohilari Beach is not particularly suitable for families due to the strong surf.
