These are the most beautiful beaches on Naxos

The Greek island of Naxos lies in the heart of the Aegean Sea, close to other Greek islands such as Paros, Mykonos, and Iraklia. As the largest island in the Cyclades, Naxos is particularly diverse. Wide beaches meet rugged cliffs and green plateaus. Numerous resorts along the coast make the island a paradise for a beach holiday. We'll show you the most beautiful beaches on Naxos .
One of the most beautiful and, at four kilometers, also one of the longest beaches on the island is Plaka Beach. The beach is known for its beautiful sand, emerald-colored waters, and the resort of the same name that stretches along the coast. Plaka is the third most popular resort on the island after Agia Anna and Agios Prokopios.

If you enjoy water sports, Plaka Beach is the perfect place. Many windsurfers and kitesurfers come here because the conditions are ideal for water sports. Behind the beach stretches the seaside resort, which combines many hotels, accommodations, shops, restaurants, and tavernas with sea views.
In the west of Naxos, the golden beach of Agios Prokopios enchants with crystal-clear waters, soft sand, and plenty of space. The resort of Agios Prokopios is one of the most popular on the island and offers many hotels and apartments, grocery stores, bakeries, shops, and restaurants.
The expansive, two-kilometer-long beach of Agios Prokopios is rarely crowded and boasts a stunning mountain backdrop. Water sports, beach bars, taverns, and cafeterias are tempting. Many come to capture a photo opportunity: Agios Prokopios is known for its scattered rocks.
The beach of Agios Prokopios extends to Agia Anna Beach, another popular resort on Naxos. Both beaches are connected by a hiking trail. Agia Anna is known for its beautiful sandy beach – and for its less crowded nature. Because it's quieter than other beach resorts, Agia Anna is a popular holiday destination for families.

The beach offers golden sand and clear water. There's always something going on here: there are tavernas with tables right on the beach and regular beach parties. There are small hotels, villas, restaurants, and a mini-market on site, and even more shops are located in neighboring Agios Prokopios.
The third beach in the group is Maragas Beach, which is also connected to Agia Anna Beach by a footpath. There's plenty of space here: Maragas Beach is an impressive four kilometers long, which is why its visitors are always well spread out. There are occasional trees that provide natural shade.
The beach is a good choice for families: the beach slopes gently and the water gradually deepens, making it safe for younger children to swim. There's also a good selection of restaurants along the beach. There are quiet stretches of beach as well as lively areas with sun loungers and water sports.
Agios Georgios Beach stretches right next to Naxos Town. Those who don't have time to head to a more distant beach can enjoy a dip in the waves here. The beach is located in the southern part of town and is surrounded by hotels and guesthouses.

Many families like to come here because it's very shallow, allowing smaller children to splash around safely in the ankle-deep water. The beach is approximately two kilometers long and stretches almost to Naxos Airport. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for rent. Several restaurants and bars are located directly on the beach.
Those seeking a Caribbean flair should head to the coastal area of Mikri Vigla. Here, several beautiful beaches and bays with golden sand and blue waters line the coast. The northern beach is called Parthena and is the most popular in the area.
There's a lot going on on the water, as the wind conditions for kitesurfing and other water sports are great.
Mikri Vigla is a designated windsurfing and kitesurfing spot, blessed with frequent gusts, shallow blue waters, and golden sand. Those who wish can also rent a canoe and explore the coast.
On the southwest coast of Naxos lies the Aliko Nature Reserve. This is a small peninsula with a cedar forest, sand dunes, and beautiful bays. The Aliko beaches consist of several beaches of varying sizes and small coves. The area is ideal for snorkeling on Naxos.

The most beautiful beach here is Hawaii Beach, known for its unique rock formations that form a natural cliff face. The backdrop is spectacular: a vertical red cliff behind the beach makes the bright sand and blue water appear particularly intense.
One of the quietest beaches on Naxos is located on the east coast. At Psili Ammos Beach, the name says it all: "Psili Ammos" translates as "fine sand." The beach has golden, particularly fine sand, shallow, blue water, and is covered with cedar trees and dunes.
The beach is unmanaged, so there are no sun loungers, umbrellas, or a beach bar. Instead, it's very peaceful. Those swimming in the waves here can even see the Koufonisia Islands.
On the northeast coast, near the coastal town of Apollonas, lies a beach that promises a peaceful setting. Those looking to avoid the crowds will find a secluded beach divided into two areas: a wider, rocky one and a smaller, sandy one. The beach is equipped with restrooms and showers, but there are no sunbeds or umbrellas.

The village of Apollonas enchants with fishing boats in the harbor and taverns along the waterfront. Most vacationers come for one of the most important sights on Naxos: the Kouros of Apollonas. This imposing stone figure is known as the Colossus of Dionysus, almost eleven meters tall and weighing around 80 tons. The statue is said to date back to the seventh century BC.
