HLB Pharma defended itself against accusations of contaminated fentanyl.

The firm maintained that it is at the disposal of the courts and has initiated internal and external reviews to clarify what happened with the fentanyl.
HLB Pharma issued a statement this Thursday in which it asserted that it had cooperated with the justice system following the events involving its contaminated fentanyl . It also defended its procedures and harshly criticized the criticism it had received, which it described as "media ridicule" motivated by political or economic interests.
In the statement, released more than a month after the possible contamination of a batch of pharmaceutical products became known , the company maintained that it is at the disposal of judicial authorities and has initiated internal and external reviews to clarify what happened. "Our commitment to public health has been absolute," the company stated, recalling that on May 8, upon learning of a possible irregularity, they voluntarily notified the regulatory authority and activated the recall of the product.
HLB also defended its record of compliance with the protocols required by ANMAT and other regulatory agencies and emphasized that the laboratory environment complies with "all its asepsis and sterility protocols." They explained that the possibility of a batch containing multiple multi-resistant bacteria "typical of a hospital setting" is, in their opinion, "simply impossible."
The firm also denounced misinformation by competitors in the sector who, according to the statement, "have distorted the results of reports and studies to obtain financial gain from the situation, without considering the emotional impact on patients."
HLB emphasized that it had not issued any public statements before out of respect for the sensitivity of the issue and asked the media and social actors to act with "seriousness, prudence, and professionalism" to avoid unfounded alarms.
"One of our institutional pillars has always been the production of quality, safe, and affordable medicines," the company concluded, thanking the community for their trust and reiterating its willingness to cooperate with the judicial investigation.
