In recent days, the television show "Isla de los famosos Italia" celebrated its grand finale during a live broadcast that nearly ended in tragedy after a contestant became trapped during the freediving test.

The incident occurred when contestant Loredana Cannata was underwater, inside a steel cage, trying to hold her breath to demonstrate her physical and mental prowess.

After remaining submerged for more than a minute, the actress grabbed one of the bars and tried to push herself to the surface, without realizing that part of her hair had become tangled in one of the tubes.

In the midst of anguish and with an obvious lack of air, the Italian artist tried several times to undo the knot, but when she couldn't, she tried stretching her neck to get her nose out of the water and be able to breathe.

However, within seconds, her hair became wrapped around the entire bar, pulling her head to the bottom . The cameras immediately cut away from her and showed what was happening on the stage.

Throughout the video posted on social media, the show's host, Veronica Gentili , and Cannata's family members can be seen extremely concerned about what was happening.

After several people urgently requested help for the celebrity, the security team at the test site decided to intervene along with other contestants and managed to pull the actress out of the water.

Moments later, the contestant reappeared on camera, saying, "I'm fine! I was counting down to 40 seconds, trying to surface, but my hair got stuck and I couldn't untangle it."

Cannata also noted that the time the mishap lasted seemed like an eternity to her, as she tried to pull out her hair to get air , but instead she only managed to swallow water, which scared her a lot.

Although the accident was just a scare and the artist arrived safely at the beach where the show's finale was being filmed, her family experienced moments of panic as they were unable to do anything to help her.
