Aerocivil expects more than 900,000 passengers to travel over the upcoming San Pedro Bridge.

Aerocivil expects more than 900,000 passengers to travel over the upcoming San Pedro Bridge.
The Civil Aeronautics Authority announced that more than 933,000 passengers are expected to travel between June 27 and July 1 for the long weekend of the San Pedro festivities.
This celebration, centered in the department of Huila, where the main festive events are concentrated, highlights Colombia's joyful spirit and cultural richness.
During these days, airport support staff will be available to assist and guide travelers in need, especially at Neiva's Benito Salas Airport, where a high influx of visitors interested in enjoying the region's cultural, folkloric, and culinary experiences is expected.

How many national and international passengers will travel this weekend?
It is estimated that approximately 562,000 passengers will travel domestically, while approximately 371,000 will travel on international routes. These figures reflect a recovery and growth of 2% in the airline sector compared to the same period in 2024.
During the long weekend of the San Pedro Festivities, a high flow of passengers is expected in several cities across the country, with Neiva, Ibagué, Santa Marta, Barranquilla, San Andrés, Villavicencio, Popayán, Pasto, and Ipiales being some of the destinations with the most air traffic.
These cities, due to their tourist, cultural, and festive importance, will account for a significant portion of domestic travel during this season.
All travelers are advised to stay in constant contact with the airline with which they purchased their ticket to stay up-to-date on any last-minute changes to their itineraries. It's also important to check official channels and social media, where information of interest related to flight status, travel recommendations, and airport operating conditions will be posted.

Recommendations for traveling this long weekend
Likewise, the Aeronautics suggests taking into account the following recommendations to facilitate your travel experience:
  1. Traveling with pets: If you plan to travel with your pet, please check with your airline and the Colombian Agricultural Institute (ICA) for specific requirements in advance. It is essential to notify them at least 48 hours before your flight.
  2. Arrive early: To avoid delays or setbacks, arrive at the airport at least three hours in advance for domestic flights and four hours in advance for international flights.
  3. Personal documents: Keep your identification documents handy and be sure to store them in a safe place.
  4. Destination requirements: Check in advance if your destination requires specific requirements such as a visa, vaccinations, a valid passport, or immigration permits. This applies to both domestic and international flights.
  5. Traveling with minors: If you are traveling with children, please bring their original birth certificate. For international flights, it is mandatory to have the minor's valid passport and, in some cases, exit permits authenticated by the parents.
  6. Carry-on luggage: Avoid carrying prohibited items such as sharp objects, flammable liquids, aerosols, or hazardous materials in your carry-on luggage.
  7. Liquids on international flights: Remember that liquids are only allowed in individual containers of up to 100 milliliters.
  8. Checked baggage: Make sure to label your bags correctly, including contact information. Check with your airline for weight and size restrictions on baggage allowance.
  9. Weather conditions: Before your trip, check the weather forecast on the official website of the Civil Aeronautics: meteorologia.aerocivil.gov.co. Weather conditions may affect flight operations.
  10. Flight Changes: Please be aware of any notifications your airline may send regarding schedule changes, gate changes, or operational modifications.
  11. Follow staff instructions: Cooperate with authorities and airport staff. Follow all safety instructions to ensure an orderly and safe journey for all passengers.
  12. Official real-time information: stay informed through the official channels and social media of the Civil Aeronautics.
