Narumi case: conviction of Chilean Nicolas Zepeda overturned by the Court of Cassation

Skip the adIt is a small judicial earthquake. The Court of Cassation annulled on Wednesday, February 26, the sentence of 28 years of imprisonment of the Chilean Nicolas Zepeda, who will therefore be tried a third time for the murder of the Japanese student Narumi Kurosaki in Besançon in 2016.
The Chilean was sentenced on appeal in December 2023 by the Haute-Saône Assize Court to 28 years in prison, as in the first instance. He will be tried again for the murder of his former Japanese girlfriend, this time by the Rhône Assize Court, the Court of Cassation said, specifying that its decision did not result in the release of the accused.
