Numerous micro-obediences have been created, reducing the audience of the main "historical" obediences: Grand Orient de France (GODF), Droit Humain (DH), Grande Loge de France (GLDF), and Grande Loge nationale française (GLNF), to name but a few. As in the entire associative world, there is a before and after Covid. The age pyramid has aged considerably, and members of a lodge are often over 60, twenty more than in the early 1980s. But due to the cumulative membership—between 140,000 and 150,000—Freemasonry continues to count, while the number of members of political parties has collapsed.
