Marmande: the League Against Cancer branch is open

Marmande: the League Against Cancer branch is open

The office is open every Thursday. The association is looking for volunteers to staff it.

Agen has its own, Villeneuve not yet. But since Thursday, May 15, Marmande has had its own branch of the League Against Cancer in the Annonciades Chapel rented by the Domus Saint-Exupéry group to "welcome, inform, and support" both sick and healthy people, as indicated by the only employee who will be present for the time being, Valérie Gallo, who is also a municipal councilor.

"One of our priorities is prevention, knowing that funding for 15 colon cancer cases represents the entire cost of prevention in the department," said Jean Calabet, president of the Lot-et-Garonne Cancer League, who supports mandatory screening after the age of 50.

The clinic is open every Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., without appointment, for all residents of the area, beyond Marmande, pending a possible other opening day. The association is looking for volunteers to staff it at 06 73 37 04 01. All donations or bequests made in the greater Marmande area remain in Lot-et-Garonne to provide comfort care.
