An Opera recital entirely dedicated to 19th-century melodrama will spread the beauty of opera within the walls of the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta in Provaglio Val Sabbia. Tuesday, July 8, at 9 p.m., the tenth edition of Il Grande in Provincia , a festival organized by the Fondazione del Teatro Grande and the Province of Brescia in collaboration with the Fondazione Provincia di Brescia Eventi, continues with a new event in the Valsabbia municipality.
Rebuilt and expanded at the end of the 18th century over the pre-existing medieval Pieve, the church today displays the splendor of its late Baroque style that will create an evocative atmosphere for the recital. The voices of the singers Laura Stella (soprano) and Alfonso Zambuto (tenor) will be accompanied by Maestro Romolo Saccomanni on the piano, offering the public a program dedicated to the most famous nineteenth-century opera composers : from Jules Massenet to Umberto Giordano, from Giuseppe Verdi to Giacomo Puccini, passing through the compositions of Ruggero Leoncavallo and Pietro Mascagni.
