Visual arts, the open call for the Visual Sound Academy Autumn 2025 is now underway

The open call for the Visual Sound Academy Autumn 2025 is now open. This free, experimental training program combines electronic music, visual arts, and new technologies, targeting emerging generations of artists in the digital and audiovisual arts. The Academy, conceived by Flyer in collaboration with Fotonica Festival, combines theoretical training, creative practice, and public presentation of results with the aim of fostering innovation, inclusion, and growth among the community of emerging professionals in the field. The project, promoted by the Rome Capital City Council – Department of Culture, is the winner of the public notice "Roma Creativa 365. Cultura tutto l'anno" (Creative Rome 365. Culture all year round), in collaboration with Zètema Progetto Cultura.

The VSA, scheduled for October 4-19 in Rome at Flyer New Media, located at Via del Verano 39 in the San Lorenzo neighborhood, offers an immersive program consisting of four workshops and two artistic residencies, led by six internationally renowned artists, combining intensive training and collective experimentation. Registration is only possible by obtaining one of the scholarships offered by the project (10 for each day) by submitting your application at visualsound.org/join/. The Academy 2025 concludes with a final event open to all, on the weekend of October 18-19, a two-day event with free admission at the Pasquino - Transmedia Arts Center, in the heart of Trastevere.

The program includes four intensive workshops, taking place on the weekends of October 4–5 and 11–12 (each costing €150, but made free thanks to the scholarship provided by the project), and two artistic residencies, the first in the week of October 6–10 and the second in the week of October 13–17 (each costing €800, but made free thanks to the scholarship provided by the project). All scheduled activities will take place from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm. Visual Sound Academy Autumn 2025 is organized under the patronage of the AVnode Foundation, which, with its 30,000 members and 80 organizations, positions the project as a key event in the global audiovisual arts calendar.
