Coquio Trevisago - Sculpting the sea is the new wood sculpture path for kids in Coquio Trevisago - - Varese News

Can the Sea be sculpted? It was the poet Giorgio Caproni from Livorno who suggested that the sea could be seen as a material to be sculpted, with the bluish splinters of its anger, the crests of snow, the ribbons of algae. “ Sculpting the Sea” thus becomes a wood sculpture course dedicated to children between the ages of 11 and 18, starting on Saturday 7 June in Coquio Trevisago, to stimulate their creativity and knowledge of the marine environment.

Of course, the Varese area is hundreds of kilometers from the sea, but this is only a geographical distance, because Varese is also home to the National Association of Italian Sailors – Gruppo Carlo Avegno – which in 2025 will celebrate its 75th anniversary. In homage to the ANMI Group of Varese, starting from Saturday 7 June, the wood sculpture workshop for children Scolpire il mare will be held at the art workshop and with the master Sergio Terni, a well-known local artist, author of the famous “Bosco Incantato” of Cerro di Cocquio Trevisago (VA).

Sergio Terni's workshop is in via Malgarini 20 in Caldana di Coquio Trevisago and the workshops will be held every Saturday afternoon in June, from 3pm to 5pm. For further information and to fill out the registration form, simply connect to THIS LINK
