"Let them be positivistic dreams of the late nineteenth century, the nuclear fear of the fifties or the collective momentum of the Sixties then cut short by the 'no future' of the punk, every era has the need to build an image of itself future that tells us who we are and what we want. It is an expectation, rather than a future, which leaves us incapable of reacting to the situation. The alternative seems to be taking refuge in dystopias, which however, having now become a codified genre, are no longer able to stimulus to reflection or action". The third point starts from here edition of 'A occhi aperti', an international festival conceived and organized by Hamelin and scheduled in Bologna from 19th to 23rd November. An event that aims to be an exploration - through comics, illustration and drawing - of a possible different direction of gaze, "no longer turned towards what is in front but towards what is to the side, for investigate traces of roads that lead to different ways to to be adjacent to contemporaneity, to 'worlds next door'". 'Worlds next door' is also the title of the exhibition (19 November-December 19) which will be the ideal centre of the festival, the first major Italian solo exhibition dedicated to Nicole Claveloux, fundamental and atypical figure in the illustration scene international, among the first and few women to make their way in the French comics from the 1970s. At the same time At the exhibition, 'The Hand' will be released for the first time in Italy. green and other stories' (Eris Edizioni). The exhibition, built for the space of the former church of San Mattia in Bologna, will bring to the public more than two hundred works by the artist including originals comics, covers, illustrations, paintings for children and books, retracing the entire chronology of his work. Alongside other artists will compose the map of the "worlds next to her" through personal exhibitions, meetings and workshops in the places of Bologna's culture. Expected are Lika Nüssli, Dario Sostegni, Andrea Bruno, David B., Manuele Fior, Hurricane, as well as emerging artists under 35.
