Tensions in Parque Goya over a proposal to combat thefts with pepper spray

Thefts have put the residents of Parque Goya on alert . For some time now there has been an increase in incidents . There are many teenagers in the neighbourhood and the "lack of organised leisure activities" - the district lacks a community centre - means that many young people can only meet up in the street to pass the time. There have been thefts of trainers, mobile phones and even pizzas , explains Jesús Trasobares, president of the residents' association. But he remembers that this does not justify some people wanting to take justice into their own hands. That is why they have called a meeting for Thursday afternoon at 6:00 pm at the Casa del Barrio (Calle El Globo 25) to analyse what is happening in the neighbourhood. The mayor of Zaragoza, Natalia Chueca, has asked the Government Delegation for a meeting to reinforce the police presence in Zaragoza .
