Summer School: What if the Netherlands turns into a war economy?
Politicians and military commanders frequently use the term "war economy." What is a war economy? What would your life be like? The chances of the Netherlands becoming a true war economy are slim, says macroeconomist Jasper Lukkezen of Utrecht University. Nevertheless, he believes it's important to consider this question, because legislation is being developed that a malicious government leader could use to transform the Netherlands into a war economy.
