"In the coming weeks." There is a declaration regarding the bill dividing the coalition.

"In the coming weeks." There is a declaration regarding the bill dividing the coalition.

"We will finalize the Civil Partnership Act in the coming weeks. We want to conclude all ideological issues by the end of the year," announced Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz. The Minister of National Defense also assured that he will cooperate with Karol Nawrocki, but also emphasized that the president's duties are primarily ceremonial.

In an interview for Monday's "Rzeczpospolita," Władysław Kosiniak announced that the ruling coalition intends to close "worldview issues" by the end of the year, which means, among other things, finalizing the law on civil partnerships.

Kosiniak-Kamysz: Civil partnership act to be passed within a few weeks

"We will finalize the Civil Partnership Act in the coming weeks. We want to conclude all ideological issues by the end of the year," said the Deputy Prime Minister.

SEE: Shoutouts and whistles directed at Kosiniak-Kamysz. This is how he responded to the crowd.

He added that, in addition to civil partnerships, talks are also underway regarding, among other things , easier divorce procedures. Kosiniak-Kamysz said that the coming weeks would provide solutions "on several issues."

"I think the coming weeks will yield positive results on several issues. We're not opposed to making things easier for people, which is why we're focusing on public consultations," he added.

Collaboration with Karol Nawrocki

In the same interview, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said he had already congratulated Karol Nawrocki on his election victory and the beginning of his presidency. He intends to cooperate with him, but he emphasized that this will be within the limits of the powers of the head of state. He emphasized that in Poland, the president has little power, and that the government , headed by the prime minister, is responsible for actual governance.

- The government is there to govern, and the president largely plays a representative role - said Kosiniak-Kamysz, emphasizing that the coalition government, and the PSL in particular, is keeping its promises.

The Deputy Prime Minister added that he counts on cooperation in the area of security – just as was the case with Andrzej Duda. "I hope that matters related to the strategic approach to security will be removed from the current dispute and devoid of political emotions, just as we have managed to do over the past two years in cooperation with President Andrzej Duda ," he said.

When asked whether soldiers could be punished for their worldviews and opinions, he firmly replied, "No." "In every case, a soldier gives evidence of himself, his preparation, and his skills. For me, this is the basis for evaluating the promotions and nominations I offer, as well as the personnel decisions I make. I count on President Nawrocki to be guided by substantive considerations, not emotions," he stated.

Collapse of the coalition in the government?

After the presidential election, the coalition weakened, and individual parties are losing support. Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said that, contrary to media reports, cooperation is going well and no one intends to leave. He assured that, as planned, Szymon Hołownia will soon step down as Speaker of the Sejm. According to the Deputy Prime Minister, he should later join the government, for example, as Minister of Culture.

"He would do very well in this space. The best solution would be for all party leaders to be in the government, because then everyone would be pulling the wagon," he said.

He assured that there will be no joint list for the next elections , but only because the coalition is formed by independent parties that have the right to autonomy. The pre-election plan was created for the 2023 presidential elections and was fully implemented.

"The coalition is made up of various groups, but that doesn't mean there can't be unity in the government. It has to be there for us to win the next elections (...) Now we have to push on; the second half is just beginning. We have a great chance of winning this match," he said.
