Water theft and sewage dumping without penalties. Water utilities extend amnesty deadline

Access to drinking water and the ability to dispose of wastewater through the sanitary sewer system require residents to pay regular fees, the amounts of which are set by local governments (in this case, the Warsaw City Council). However, some residents do not pay the fees because they use water services illegally, without a contract.
The Municipal Water and Sewage Company in Warsaw launched its "Abolition" campaign in June of this year, specifically to these groups. The campaign was met with such great popularity that the decision was made to extend it until the end of August.

"We would like to remind you that the condition for using the amnesty is the voluntary application of the owner or user of the property who uses the water supply or sewage disposal without a contract," informs MPWiK.
People who do this and are willing to sign the contract will be able to benefit from the following bonuses :
- exemption from costs related to connection verification;
- exemption from fees for previously uncontractually supplied water and collected sewage - the charge for the collected water or discharged sewage will be made from the date of notification.
Applications can be submitted to the Customer Service Department at Plac Starynkiewicza 5 and ul. Zaruskiego 4 or via e-mail by sending documents to the e-mail address [email protected] .
The website of Warsaw Waterworks contains detailed information on the rules for using the amnesty and the steps necessary to perform in order to regulate the status of connection to the network.
