  • The amendment to the regulations assumes that the president of the cooperative will have to have appropriate management qualifications.
  • The Parliamentary Team for Housing Cooperatives was established in the Sejm under the chairmanship of MP Kamil Wnuk.

The Ministry of Development and Technology is working on changing the regulations concerning housing cooperatives and communities. Deputy Minister Michał Baranowski, in response to an interpellation from MP Grzegorz Macko, assures that the ministry is considering specific solutions that "should be introduced in the area of housing cooperatives in order to improve the functioning of housing cooperatives , increase the transparency of their operations and expand the rights of their members."

Only qualified people will be able to sit in the chair of the cooperative's president

The amendment to the regulations will probably introduce an obligation to specify in the statute the requirements for a candidate for a member of the management board of a housing cooperative.

This solution is intended to ensure that the president of the management board of a given cooperative is a person who is qualified to perform such a function and who guarantees the proper management of the resources of that specific cooperative.

- explains Baranowski.

But that's not all, because the ministry is considering introducing a term of office for the board. But it will be up to the will of the cooperative members whether a given person will serve as a board member for any number of terms, so the act will not impose any restrictions.

The Parliamentary Team for Housing Cooperatives has been established

The new regulations will assume that if the general meeting fails to grant discharge to a management board member, a vote will be held on the dismissal of that management board member.

This solution will allow cooperative members to efficiently verify a board member who has not received a discharge

- indicates the minister.

The Parliamentary Team for Housing Cooperatives was established in the Sejm under the chairmanship of MP Kamil Wnuk, whose aim is to develop comprehensive solutions that will influence the further operation of cooperatives.
