CKE published the results of the 2025 Matura exams. Every fifth high school graduate must retake the exam

Matura 2025. High schools with better results than technical and vocational schoolsAmong this year’s high school graduates, 86% passed the Matura exam, and 9% have the right to resit the exam in August.
Meanwhile, 70% of this year's technical school graduates passed the matriculation exam, and 19% have the right to resit, and in second-degree vocational schools, 14% of graduates passed the matriculation exam, and 30% have the right to resit.
Three compulsory basic exams and one compulsory extended examHigh school graduates were required to take three written exams at the basic level: in Polish, mathematics and a modern foreign language, and two oral ones: in Polish and a foreign language. Graduates from schools or classes with the language of instruction of national minorities were also required to take a written exam in their native language at the basic level and an oral exam in their native language.
High school graduates also had to take one written exam at an advanced level , i.e. an exam in a so-called additional subject or an elective. Those willing could take up to six exams at an advanced level.
30% of exam points are enough to pass the final examTo pass the Matura exam, you must obtain at least 30% of the points available in compulsory subjects .
There is no passing grade for elective courses.
Resit of the Matura exam. 7 percent failed the exam in more than one subjectA high school graduate who has failed one compulsory exam has the right to resit in August . The resit exams are scheduled for August 19-20.
A high school graduate who fails more than one compulsory exam may only improve his or her results the following year.

Matura 2025. A high school graduate can appeal the result. What is the procedure?A high school graduate who questions their result may appeal it. The appeal procedure is multi-stage. According to the regulations, each high school graduate may apply to the relevant regional examination board (OKE) for access to their assessed work.
He can take a picture of the exam sheet. If he has any reservations about the assessment, he can apply for verification to the director of the regional examination board. The director of the OKE - after considering the application - can change the assessment or maintain the current one.
A high school graduate who still disputes the result may appeal to the Examination Arbitration Board.A high school graduate who continues to challenge the result may appeal to the Examination Arbitration Board at the Central Examination Board. Such an application must be submitted within seven days of receiving information from the OKE about the result of the verification of the sum of points.
The application may only concern the assessment of tasks that have not been positively verified by OKE. Although formally the application is addressed to the director of the Central Examination Commission, it should be submitted to the parent OKE.
The application is reconsidered by the OKE. The OKE Director may accept the entire appeal, only part of it, or not accept it at all. The answers that he does not accept are forwarded to the Central Examination Board. The CKE Director forwards them to the Examination Arbitration Board. The board is composed of experienced examiners and experts in a given field of science.
More than 255 thousand secondary school graduates took the matriculation examThis year's main Matura session began on May 5. It lasted until May 22. It was attended by 255.5 thousand of this year's post-primary school graduates, including 161.4 thousand high school graduates, 92.8 thousand technical school graduates and 1.3 thousand graduates of second-degree vocational schools.
Together with them , 636 citizens of Ukraine took the exam under the law on assistance to citizens of Ukraine in connection with the armed conflict on the territory of that country.
In addition , the Matura exams were taken by people who had failed in previous years, wanted to improve their result or took the exam in subsequent subjects.

You can take it laterA high school graduate who, due to unforeseen circumstances or health reasons, was unable to take the exam(s) in May could take the exam in an additional session if he/she received the consent of the director of the relevant district examination board.
