Information about the appointment of the new ambassador of the Russian Federation to Poland was published on the website pravo.gov.ru.

Vladimir Putin decided to " appoint Georgy Viktorovich Mikhna Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Poland," the document reads.

At the same time, a decree was also published regarding the dismissal of the current ambassador, Sergei Andriyev .

Biographical information about the diplomat is difficult to find on official government websites. It is known that Georgy Mikhno most recently served as Director of the Department of New Challenges and Threats at the Russian Foreign Ministry .

On July 10, the Interia news portal reported the end of the diplomatic mission of the Russian ambassador to Poland , Sergei Andreyev. According to journalists, the diplomat is expected to leave the country in the coming weeks.

Andreyev had held this position since August 26, 2014. The decision to appoint him was made and signed by Vladimir Putin.
