The Supreme Court of the United Arab Emirates will decide on the extradition of Sebastian MajtczakWhat decisions can be made by the UAE justice system? If the Supreme Court rejects the Pole's appeal, the files will go to the UAE Minister of Justice, who will either refuse to extradite the man to Poland or agree to his extradition . However, if the court considers the appeal justified, it may change the ruling of the court of first instance - then the Minister of Justice will issue a decision refusing extradition. A family of three died in an accident on the A1 motorway.A tragic accident occurred in mid-September 2023 on the A1 motorway in Sierosław near Piotrków Trybunalski (Łódź Province). At that time, a Kia passenger car burned down, carrying a family of three - a married couple and their five-year-old son. After questioning witnesses, securing traces and analyzing camera recordings, investigators concluded that the accident was caused by a collision between the Kia and a BMW rushing at breakneck speed, the driver of which fled the scene. However, the man was not immediately detained. Sebastian Majtczak, accused of causing the accident, managed to escape to Dubai, where he has been staying since then.
Sebastian Majtczak was issued an arrest warrant, and was wanted on the basis of an Interpol red notice. After being detained by Dubai police, supported by the Polish Special Search Group, Majtczak was taken to jail in the UAE, but was released on bail. The Polish prosecutor's office is seeking the man's extradition.
