Thousands of vaccines for typhoid and hepatitis. The government is stockpiling supplies in case of an epidemic.

- For the typhoid vaccine, the minimum quantity is 2,600 doses. Preference will be given to vaccines that provide single-dose immunization and are suitable for the broadest age groups.
- No basis was found for maintaining a separate reserve of the monovalent vaccine against typhoid and tetanus (TyT) and against diphtheria (D id). In this case, protection is to be provided by the anti-epidemic reserve.
- For the hepatitis A vaccine, the recommended dose is no less than 4,000 doses, divided into 2,000 doses for children and 2,000 doses for adults.
The Regulation, in accordance with the authorization contained in the Act on the Prevention and Control of Infections and Infectious Diseases in Humans, specifies the composition, size and method of storing the reserve of vaccines and other immunological medicinal products used in the event of an epidemic threat or epidemic.
There are also details on how to activate the reserve, how to distribute medicinal products activated from the reserve and how to deal with products that are nearing their expiration dates.
No separate reserve for vaccines against typhoid and tetanus (TyT) and diphtheria (D id)The draft new regulation introduces changes to the composition and size of the reserve.
" The creation of a separate reserve for vaccines against typhoid and tetanus (TyT) and diphtheria (D id) is being abandoned ," the Ministry of Health states in its justification. "The bill envisages a change in the reserve amount for vaccines against typhoid and hepatitis A. The reserve will include diphtheria antitoxin, botulinum antitoxin, and monkeypox vaccine (MPOX), stored in the warehouses of the Central Sanitary and Anti-Epidemic Reserve Database, to ensure the country's health security."
For the typhoid vaccine, the minimum required quantity is 2,600 doses . Preference will be given to vaccines that provide single-dose immunization and are suitable for the broadest age groups.
Protection will be provided by the anti-epidemic reserve, and combination vaccines are also available. No basis was found for maintaining a separate reserve of monovalent vaccine against typhoid fever and tetanus (TyT).
" This protection is provided by the anti-epidemic reserve referred to in § 2 item 5 of the amended regulation, which constitutes at least 10% of the demand for vaccines for the implementation of the National Immunization Program (PSO). Four combined vaccines are also available in this regard: DTP (for children), Td, or Tdap, " the Ministry of Health states.

Similarly, it justifies the abandonment of the reserve of the diphtheria vaccine (D id), adding that the combined vaccines DTP (for children), Td or Tdap are available and that the monovalent vaccine against diphtheria can be purchased under the PSO for use in post-exposure management.
4,000 doses against hepatitis A. What about protection against monkeypox virus? For the hepatitis A vaccine, the recommended dose is no less than 4,000 doses , divided into 2,000 doses for children and 2,000 doses for adults.
Regarding the vaccine against monkeypox virus infections (mpox), it was considered justified to include it in the assortment purchased by the Minister of Health for the anti-epidemic reserve .
Infected people are subject to home isolation or hospitalization. In the justification, the authors point out that, in accordance with the current recommendations of the Minister of Health and the National Consultant in the field of infectious diseases, it is important for European countries to be prepared to act and detect new infections imported into their territory and secondary cases, as well as to implement measures to prevent further transmission of the infection.
" In the Republic of Poland, infected individuals are subject to home isolation, as determined by a physician, or, in cases justified by clinical condition, hospitalization. However, close contacts with infected individuals should be subject to epidemiological surveillance or quarantine, " the Ministry of Health reminds.
