Bugatti has unveiled its first unicorn. It will be the flagship of its new program.

Bugatti opens the door to the world of one-offs and rolls out the red carpet leading to the Programme Solitaire workshop. The French brand joins the ranks of producers of exclusive, one-off works of art on wheels.

According to Hendrik Malinowski, Managing Director of Bugatti, Programme Solitaire allows customers' unique visions to come true, giving them greater freedom to reinterpret long-standing Bugatti design elements.

"When building a one-of-a-kind example, we have much greater freedom to reinterpret what Bugatti is, while maintaining absolute perfection in every detail —without any compromise on performance, quality, or design. Each exceptional example from the Solitaire program will be unique and unrivaled, offering a level of attention to detail unmatched even in the most exclusive automotive creations, " says Hendrik Malinowski, Managing Director of Bugatti.

Bugatti Brouillard - a unicorn, but inspired by a horse

The first unicorn is named Brouillard. This name was chosen to honor Ettore Bugatti's beloved animal, his... horse. I think I've written about a horse before, only this time from Sweden... Anyway, this time we have a version from France.

The car is based on the Mistral, but with a glass roof. The carbon fiber body is painted green , the car's signature color. The interior is dominated by green leather combined with a checkered fabric sourced from Paris.

The central tunnel, meanwhile, is made of green-tinted carbon fiber, with the only color break being aluminum, a record amount for this generation of Bugatti. A horse motif appears on many elements , whether in the form of embroidery on the headrests and doors, or a three-dimensional sculpture embedded within the transparent element of the drive mode knob .

Bugatti Brouillard - a strong heart, family inspirations

The beating heart of this steed is the now-legendary W16 engine with four turbines and 1,600 hp. To harness this power, aerodynamics and cooling solutions were designed specifically for this car. Air flowing through enormous intakes and redirected over the body, along with a gigantic diffuser with a redesigned exhaust, press the car closer to the road.

The client who commissioned this unique Bugatti is known (probably only to the brand's management) for his passion for the works of not only Ettore but also his father, Carlo, who created exceptional furniture, and his brother, Rembrandt, a sculptor. Brouillard is a fusion of works and a tribute to all three artists.

One of the few, if not the only, opportunities to see the car in person will be the rapidly approaching Monterey Car Week. The Brouillard will be the showcase for the entire Programme Solitaire, which aims to create a maximum of two works of art on wheels per year.
