European health resorts or lakeside towns are one of the ideas for a vacation in Europe, as evidenced by the popularity of the Hungarian destination during the May Day holiday. It is about Eger, a picturesque city between the Bükk Mountains and the Mátra Mountains. Many of our compatriots have chosen it for the May Day holiday, although it is not a place on the outskirts of Budapest. By car, we can reach the spa in two hours.

In the picturesque town (famous for its Egri Bikaver wine) we will find, among others, the Eger Thermal Baths, which are among the most beautiful in Hungary. They are located close to the center. "Straight from the winery on the main square, after a 5-minute walk you can jump into the water - and not into ordinary water in an ordinary place!" - encourages the local tourist organization.

The city also offers a wealth of historical and cultural attractions, the most famous of which is the 13th-century Eger Castle, which played a key role during the Turkish siege in 1552. It was partially reconstructed between 2008 and 2014, and a castle promenade was built at that time.

Tourists can also visit the Beatles Museum, which houses almost 2,000 pieces of memorabilia, including DVDs, audio recordings, books, photographs, clothing, and dedications.
