Vale de Cambra Arts and Entertainment Center with “urgent art for uncertain times”

The Vale de Cambra Arts and Entertainment Center (CAE) will open its new season on September 20th with the international show “Nada”, by the Ferrer & Weidmann company, a concert by Bruno Pernadas and the inauguration of the exhibition “Alentejo. Alentejo”, by Paulo Neves.
Under the motto "urgent art for uncertain times," the exhibition, which runs until the end of December this year, offers performances that combine theater, music, dance, new circus, cinema, and community projects. It brings together established and emerging artists "in a lineup that critically reflects the times we live in, with a commitment to artistic diversity, proximity to the region, and intergenerational participation."
In a press release, the Sala's programming team presented " proposals that question, move, and open space for critical reflection, blending tradition and innovation, thought and humor, beauty and conflict." It calls for theater, music, new circus, cinema, and dance to "occupy an essential place in the community's daily life."
The poster features the names of Bárbara Tinoco, OMIRI, Romeu Bairos, the Espinho Jazz Orchestra, Sara Barros Leitão, Sandra Barata Belo and Ricardo Pereira, Sofia Escobar and the Flor da Mocidade Junqueirene Musical Band, the company of Nadine Gerspacher, Cláudia Gaiolas and Tónan Quito, Hugo Sousa and Cicero.
The program includes proposals for schools, families, young people and seniors, with the shows "Conchas" (Shells), "Projeto Aurora" (Aurora Project) by Inês Melo; "Trees Don't Have Legs to Walk" by Joana Gama; "Roda-Viva" (Road Trip) by Cláudia Nóvoa and the workshop "A Dança de BirdsLAND" (The Dance of BirdsLAND).
He also reported that he will maintain "a strong component of mediation and community involvement", particularly with the project to create a youth theater group.
It should be added that, at the Macieira de Cambra Cultural Center, cinema will take center stage, with films for young people, adults and children.
With a "cross-cutting and intergenerational approach," the new season reaffirms the Vale de Cambra CAE as a "meeting place for artists and audiences, between past and future, between the local and the global."
