Protein has become a hot topic, especially in the fitness world, as anyone looking to gain muscle needs to meet their daily intake of this macronutrient. However, it's essential for everyone, at different stages of life.

That's why Metrópoles spoke with Camila Lima, a nutrition professor at UniCeub, to reveal which meat has the most protein . "According to research, beef generally has the highest protein content. On average, beef can have between 26 and 34 grams of protein per 100g," she explains.

“Chicken breast (without skin) has approximately 25 to 31 grams per 100g, and fish (like salmon) range between 20 and 25 grams per 100g,” he adds.

For the specialist, adequate protein consumption increases satiety and, consequently , helps reduce calorie intake, contributing to weight control.

“In addition, protein helps maintain and gain muscle mass , contributes to bone health, participates in the production of enzymes and hormones, strengthens the immune system and helps in tissue repair,” he points out.

Camilaalso points out that, considering beef generally has the most protein , lean cuts stand out. "For example, a 100g portion of cooked flank steak can contain around 34.2g of protein, while 100g of cooked filet mignon has approximately 32.5g of protein."
