Singer regrets not saying goodbye to her breasts before cancer surgery

Singer Jessie J shared a rant on Saturday, 5, about how she has been feeling after undergoing a mastectomy to remove one of her breasts due to breast cancer. She revealed that she regretted not having "said goodbye enough" to her breasts.
"I'm a little disappointed in myself for not saying goodbye to my breasts enough [...] It sounds silly, but that's how I'm feeling," she lamented.
In a social media post, Jessie explained that she had the drain removed two nights ago after having it for 12 days. "Now it's just me and my uneven boobs learning how to dress until they're even. The left one is looking at the right one like, 'Are you okay?'" she wrote.
The artist also said that when she was diagnosed with cancer, she didn't have time to analyze how she was feeling, as she went into "survival mode."
"I didn't have a lot of time to process what was happening or what was going to happen. So right now I'm experiencing a lot of delayed sadness and frustration that I had time to process what's happening. I'm a little disappointed in myself for not saying goodbye to my breasts enough," she lamented.
"It sounds silly, but that's how I'm feeling. Again, this is my journey. I'm sure other people have felt and feel this differently. But for me, I didn't think beyond my surgery. I was just being strong," she added.
Jessie J also said she will allow herself to feel this way for a moment and then move on. "Right now I'm just here allowing myself to feel angry and sad and all the things. Just for a few days. Then I'm going to sew some padding into my bra to make them the same," the singer concluded.
