The Romanian president is not yet ready to declassify information about the cancellation of the 2024 elections.

Romanian President Nicusor Dan said he is not yet ready to declassify information about the cancellation of presidential elections at the end of 2024, but promised to do so "when the time comes."
"At the right moment [the data will be declassified]. This is not a significant issue. <…> We currently understand 30% of what happened in November 2024. There is still data that has not been published," he said in an interview with the Digi24 television channel.
At the same time, the president emphasized that the information will be released “not in five or ten years,” but in “several months.”
During his election campaign, Dan promised to present a public report with evidence of interference in the Romanian elections at the end of 2024, explaining the reasons for their cancellation, but this information has still not been declassified.
The 2024 and 2025 presidential elections in Romania were marred by high-profile scandals. After opposition candidate Călin Georgescu emerged as the front-runner in the first round, the Constitutional Court annulled the vote, and Georgescu was disqualified from the presidential race.
In the May re-election, Bucharest Mayor Nicusor Dan won the second round. However, his opponent, George Simion, leader of the Alliance for the Unification of Romanians, appealed the results to the Constitutional Court. Simion claims the results were falsified. Specifically, his campaign accused the Moldovan authorities of organizing the busing of voters. However, the court dismissed this appeal as unfounded.
