Gazipaşa District Governor Selami Korkutata, who conducted an inspection at the scene of the fire, said, "The fire that broke out in the Karadağ region of our district covered an area of ​​25 hectares. The fire was extinguished in approximately 3 hours of intensive work by 4 helicopters, 17 water trucks and 100 personnel. Fire was also detected in residential areas and citizens were evacuated. Some workplaces and 25 vehicles were damaged in the fire that started in a forest area in the Gaziemir district of Izmir yesterday and spread to the gallery dealers' site.

The Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change and firefighters have started damage assessment work in the region.

Stating that they were happy that there was no loss of life, Hiçüşenmez said, "The situation was very bad here yesterday. We are still grateful. Our neighbor's building burned down with all its goods. We also lost 25 vehicles. Officials from the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change came. Damage assessments are being made in the area. There was a severe storm. That's why it spread to the vehicles. Most of our shopkeepers were closed because it was a market. We pulled the vehicles as much as we could."
