Drug operations in 74 provinces: Over 1 ton of substances seized

Large quantities of drugs were seized in operations targeting drug dealers across Turkey. Simultaneous raids were conducted in 74 provinces, including Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Adana, Gaziantep, Bursa, Diyarbakır, Antalya, Konya, Şanlıurfa, Samsun, and Mersin.

WIDE-PARTICIPATION OPERATION

A total of 2,705 teams and 6,760 personnel participated in the operations. Twenty-one aircraft were used for air support, and 47 narcotics detection dogs were also on duty in the field.

1,811 suspects were captured

During the operations, 1,811 suspects were detained. It was determined that the majority of the seized drugs were being prepared for distribution through street dealers.

MINISTER YERLİKAYA ADDRESSED YOUTH

Addressing young people in a statement regarding the operation, Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya said, "Young people, this fight we are waging against drugs is a fight to protect you. Stay away from the drugs that steal your future. We are with you. We are making the drug dealers pay the heaviest price for their crimes, and we will continue to do so."
