Murder of a woman in Aksaray: Caught in a construction site where she was hiding

Having an argument with 50-year-old Selvi Kavas, with whom he lived together at midnight in TOKİ residences in Ortaköy district of Aksaray , İbrahim D. (55) drew an unlicensed gun he was carrying and shot Selvi Kavas in the neck as the argument got heated.

As the woman collapsed, covered in blood, to the ground, residents of the neighborhood heard the gunshot and reported the incident to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Police and paramedics were dispatched to the scene, and İbrahim D. fled the house with the gun, the weapon of the crime.

Suspect caught at construction site

Paramedics arrived quickly to determine the woman was dead, and police began pursuing the fleeing suspect. Plainclothes officers from the Ortaköy District Police Department quickly located the building where the suspect was hiding and raided the building, apprehending the suspect with a gun on the rooftop.

The suspect was taken to the district police headquarters to give his statement. Police are continuing to investigate the incident, and the Ortaköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has launched an investigation.
