No way for drugs! 153 suspects caught

Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that 153 suspects were caught in the " Narkokapan 14: Martyr Bora Barış Güler" operation, which was simultaneously carried out in Istanbul against people dealing in narcotics and stimulants.

Making a statement on his social media account, Yerlikaya said, "Keeping our youth, who are our future, away from drugs is our common duty. If you have any suspicions about drugs, report it to the 112 Emergency Call Center. We will do what is necessary.

As a result of the work carried out by the Istanbul Provincial Police Department's Combating Narcotics Crimes Branch Directorate, under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and the General Directorate of Security's Narcotics Crimes Department; in the operation centered in the Gaziosmanpaşa and Kağıthane districts targeting street vendors;

"25.5 kg of heroin, 17 kg of methamphetamine, various amounts of skunk, cocaine and narcotic pills, 3 precision scales , 4 unlicensed pistols, 1 unlicensed pump-action shotgun and a large amount of foreign currency and Turkish Lira were seized. I congratulate our Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office who coordinated the operation and our heroic Istanbul police officers who carried out the operation," he said.
