Robert Redford has passed away

Oscar-winning director Robert Redford, one of the greatest living figures in American cinema, has died at the age of 89.

"Robert Redford passed away on September 16, 2025, at his home in the mountains of Sundance, Utah, surrounded by those he loved so much. He will be deeply missed," Cindi Berger, Redford's public relations manager, told CNN International.

Redford, who began his acting career in the 1960s, left his mark on cinema history with films such as “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” “The Sting,” “All the President’s Men” and “Out of Africa.”
