Organs of brain-dead person will bring hope to 4 patients

A 50-year-old female patient, who had been receiving intensive care treatment for a while at Giresun Prof. Dr. İlhan Özdemir State Hospital after falling, suffered brain death.

Following a meeting with the hospital's organ and tissue transplantation unit, the family accepted organ donation.

The two kidneys, heart and liver of the person who had suffered brain death were removed by an expert team.

The kidneys and liver were sent to Samsun, while the heart was sent to Ankara for transplantation to patients waiting for organs and tissues.
