Parliament approves motion against Israel's attacks in Syria

A motion signed by Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş was read at the Turkish Grand National Assembly General Assembly. The motion stated that Israel's disregard for law has once again been exposed today in Syria.
"ISRAEL IS OPENLY VIOLATING SYRIA'S TERRITORIAL INTEGRITY"The Turkish Grand National Assembly (TBMM) General Assembly approved a parliamentary speaker's motion against Israel's attacks in Syria. The motion emphasized that the ongoing genocide in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, the attacks on Lebanon and Iran, and the current targeting of Damascus, the capital of Syria, clearly demonstrate the Israeli government's implementation of a conflict strategy that threatens regional peace as a whole. It included the following statements:
Trampling on the United Nations Charter, a common commitment of the international community, and the rules and principles of international law, Israel, on the one hand, is openly violating Syria's territorial integrity, while on the other, it is embarking on a new aggression aimed at distracting from the genocide it is carrying out against the Palestinian people. These attacks by Israel aim to destabilize Syria and the region. The international community's incomprehensible silence and inaction on this point emboldens Israel's lawless and reckless aggression.
The motion stated that it is clear that unless all of humanity reacts strongly to these attacks, the atmosphere of peace, security and stability will continue to be damaged both in the region and around the world, and the following was noted:
As the Turkish Grand National Assembly, we condemn in the strongest possible terms Israel's vile attacks on Syria, especially the capital, Damascus. We reiterate our solidarity with the Syrian people, who have endured immense suffering for many years. We strongly emphasize our support for Syria's territorial integrity and sovereignty and our opposition to all actions that threaten the peace of the friendly and brotherly Syrian people. We affirm that peace and stability in Syria will also serve regional peace and stability; on the contrary, developments will only benefit Netanyahu and his team, who have built their existence on bloodshed and conflict.
We declare that we will continue to make every effort to ensure peace, stability, security, and tranquility in our region, as we have done so far. We once again call on the international community to raise its voice and take effective, consistent, and decisive measures against Israel's aggression, which deepens the regional crisis and threatens world peace.
In the Turkish Grand National Assembly, deputies from the AK Party, CHP, MHP, İYİ Party and Yeni Yol Party voted in favor of the motion, while the DEM Party abstained.
