Record number of applications to Healthy Life Centers in one year

According to information compiled from Ministry of Health data, Healthy Life Centers (SMH), established to protect individuals and society from health risks, promote healthy lifestyles, and strengthen primary health care services, provide services within the scope of the Healthy Turkey Century Program with the "Protective, Developing, and Productive Health Model."
Whether or not they have social security, everyone can benefit from SHMs free of charge, where services such as nutrition counseling, psychosocial support, physiotherapy, child development, combating addiction and obesity, healthy aging, and improving the society's quality of life are offered.
Applications can be made by scheduling an appointment with a case coordinator through the MHRS ( Central Respiratory Health Services Administration) through the patient's family physician, or by scheduling an appointment directly with the Health and Safety Officer (HSM). Additionally, case coordinators are assigned to the centers to facilitate access for citizens.
Healthy Life Centers offer services in 16 areas. These services include Nutrition Counseling, Physical Activity Counseling, Chronic Disease Management Services, Women's and Reproductive Health Counseling, KETEM, Child and Adolescent Health Counseling, Smoking Cessation and Drug Abuse , Social Service Counseling, Individual Counseling, Infection Control Services, Infectious Disease Control Services, School Health Services, Preventive Oral and Dental Health Services, Injection Dressing Services, Imaging Services, and Laboratory Services.
Health training is also provided to the public and staff at SHMs.Within the scope of the "Preventive Health" model, Healthy Life Academies (SAHA) were established in SSCs to increase the level of health literacy of individuals, to enable them to benefit more effectively from health services, to improve their quality of life, to raise public awareness of health issues, to ensure that they live healthier lives, to age healthily, and to encourage a healthy lifestyle.
According to the Ministry's data, a total of 20 million 366 thousand 274 applications were made to the SHM in the period between July 1, 2024 and July 1, 2025.
