Emmerdale fans 'work out' who's texting Manpreet - and it's 'not Meena'

Viewers of Emmerdale think they know what's going on with Manpreet Sharma, and who she's sharing secret texts with.

The doctor is clearly hiding something and on Monday night, she remained coy about some text messages she received during the crash vigil. Spoilers had teased she would receive mystery messages and that she would be hiding them from other people.

On Monday night Paddy Kirk and his dad Bear were both intrigued over Manpreet's phone buzzing, and she claimed it was a patient as she said "patient confidentiality". Paddy made a comment that his patients never sent him text messages, and while he was joking it certainly shared his confusion over why a patient would be texting her personal phone.

As she hid the phone from sight and reacted to the messages, fans were convinced the plot was tied into another twist unfolding onscreen in recent episodes. With this they believed they knew who was messaging her and why she was keeping it a secret.

Fans have wondered if Manpreet has been supplying pills to Joe Tate amid his apparent illness. He has been seen struggling with pains and even collapsing recently, taking all kinds of pills and being in touch with a doctor.

But the storyline took a sinister turn last week when a flashback implied Joe was the one behind his brother Noah Dingle being spiked. The spiking led to Noah staggering around outside before collapsing, while he also inadvertently caused the limo crash that killed Amy Wyatt, Leyla Harding and Suzy Merton.

In a flashback Noah was on a hospital bed and a doctor was stood over him with a syringe, preparing to inject him. Joe was there and he told the mystery doctor they had to get on with it.

Now, fans are wondering if Manpreet is involved or maybe she supplied Joe with the drugs that were used to spike Noah. Taking to social media, one fan predicted: "I think she gave Joe the drugs to spike Noah or something."

Another fan said: "I suspect it’s linked to Joe / Noah. Maybe the texts relate to some test results that have made her worried or suspicious." A third viewer added: "Maybe Joe's got nothing to do with Noah being spiked and Manpreet gives him the wrong dose of something during a check-up or something."

Others speculated she was in touch with her serial killer sister Meena Jutla. One fan said: "Could she be contacting Meena/the prison Meena is in? I loved Meena and would love to get her back - for her final revenge." as another added: "It has to be!"
