25,000 French people undergo surgery each year after a cat bite

The Federation of Emergency Hand Services is appealing on BFMTV not to ignore the seriousness of cat bites, "which often result in more serious injuries than dog bites." An untreated wound can lead to infection, loss of mobility, and even, in some rare cases, amputations.
