The heatwave intensifies this Monday , with temperatures "at an exceptional level" in the Southwest, while the episode will "progress" in the rest of the country.
In addition to the twelve departments placed on red alert from Monday midday by Météo-France , from Charente-Maritime to Aude, 41 others (located mainly below a line running from Vendée to Doubs) have been placed on orange alert for this new heat wave which, coming from the south, has gradually spread to two-thirds of the country since Friday.
