I once had a hip replacement placed at my flower man’s market; that didn’t go well – the stem didn’t grow together. Every Saturday I saw him limping around his stall. Eventually a re-operation followed, performed by a colleague, which fortunately was successful. When I saw him again at the market after his recovery, I felt guilty. He came straight up to me and gave me a beautiful bouquet. “But why?”, I asked, referring to the failed operation. He shrugged his shoulders. “Oh well, sometimes I get a wilted bunch too.”
