More than 25 hundred-year-old poplars and 4 equally old maples were cut down. All of the trees affected grew on a section of the county road that was about a kilometer long and led to the commune seat in Kisielice.
Kisielice councillor Paweł Kulczyk suspects that the crime was not committed by one person, but by an "organised group".
"They had to be professionals"The Iława District Officer points out that "the perpetrators must have been professionals in felling trees" because the cuts in the trees were made in such a way as to facilitate the work of the sawyers who "finally felled them".
