FSB arrests man for planning terrorist attack against military in Moscow region

The FSB detained a man who, according to the intelligence agency, was planning to kill a Russian serviceman in the Moscow region.

The detainee is a citizen of Russia and Ukraine, born in 1989. The agency called him an agent of the Ukrainian special services, who was recruited "on the territory of a third country."
According to the agency, he made an explosive device and installed it in a car "purchased with the enemy's money." He was going to park the car with 60 kg of explosives in a designated place and detonate it "at the moment a high-ranking serviceman of the Russian Ministry of Defense passed in the immediate vicinity."
The suspect was detained on the M-4 highway. According to the FSB , the man admitted to collaborating with the Ukrainian special services and said that he was offered "the opportunity to return to his country of origin and, in exchange for committing a terrorist act, avoid mobilization into the Ukrainian Armed Forces."
A criminal case was opened under Article 275 (high treason), Part 1 of Article 223.1 (illegal manufacture, storage, transportation of explosives), and Part 1 of Article 222.1, Part 3 of Article 30, Article 222.1 of the Criminal Code (illegal acquisition, transfer, sale of explosives).
