The target of the crime was a high-ranking military officer
In the Moscow region, Federal Security Service officers prevented a terrorist attack that targeted a high-ranking military officer.
According to the security agency, a citizen of Russia and Ukraine was detained. He was planning to park a car with 60 kg of explosives.
A Ukrainian intelligence agent codenamed "Raven" was recruited abroad. Following instructions in a messenger, he created a homemade explosive device that was hidden in a car.
The car was planned to be left in a certain place for subsequent explosion when a serviceman passed by. The man was detained on the M-4 highway when he was heading to the place of the explosion. The suspect confessed to the crime and gave evidence.
He stated that foreign intelligence services offered him the opportunity to return to his homeland and evade conscription into the Ukrainian Armed Forces in exchange for committing a terrorist attack.
